ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: A look into Lanie’s history
Are you ready to see something a little bit different on “Castle” next season? We hope so! If you have been asking to have a Lanie-centric episode for quite some time, then this is going to be some welcome news. The show is ready to deliver exactly what you have been waiting for ever since the character was first introduced.
According to a report from TV Guide, show creator Andrew W. Marlowe is in the process of crafting an episode that will allow the character (played by Tamala Jones) to shine, and also give her a little bit more of an opportunity to have her story be told. If you want to use an analogy, think of this as something relatively similar to what we’ve seen in the past with episodes revolving around both Ryan and Esposito.
In speaking about Jon Huertas’ character, don’t worry, because there is going to be some sort of story coming up when it comes to his relationship with Lanie, and whether or not we are going to see the two actually move beyond their current status as friends with plenty of benefits. While there were a few moments of joy between the two characters on season 5, there were also moments where it genuinely felt as though the characters were really just spinning their wheels rather than getting from point A to point B.

I would like to see an episode where Beckett finally commits 100% to Castle. We have seen Castle put his life on the line many times for Beckett and even willing to die with her in “Still”. I have never seen that type of commitment from Beckett. It always seems she is committed until something better comes along, “job in DC” then she is ready to throw him under the Bus. Is she in this relationship or not. I think it is time we saw a 100% commitment, from Beckett to Castle, in some form.

I would love a Lanie-centric episode. I love Lanie, I think she’s a great, real, hilarious and strong female character and I would love to see more of her. Maybe we’ll find out why Lanie hates her mom, whether she has any siblings, why she became a M.E., etc.
I would also love to see a Beckett-Lanie centered episode, because I also really love the friendship between Lanie and Beckett. It would be cool to see Castle and Espo and ,of course, Ryan and Gates scramble to get Lanie and Beckett back, if they’re kidnapped or something when Beckett is at the morgue with Lanie, while seeing more of Beckett and Lanie’s relationship. I would love to see them talk about their respective relationships with Castle and Espo. We haven’t really seen Lanie open up about her past or her relationship with Espo so it would be cool to see Kate try to grill her when they’re in a room together for a long period of time while Lanie does the same to her. Maybe we’lll find out why Lanie is just as afraid to commit to Espo as Kate is to commit to Castle.
