‘Arrested Development’ season 4: ‘Community’ creator Dan Harmon makes brief cameo
If you are a “Community” fan, then congratulations. Netflix has just given you another reason to start binge-watching “Arrested Development.” The uber-popular fan favorite, arguably the “Community” of its time in terms of fan following, debuted its fifteen-episode fourth season at midnight, and there are already some people who have miraculously burned through eveyr single one of the Bluth family’s adventures … crazy as that sounds.
We don’t want to spoil too much about the appearance from “Community” creator Dan Harmon, mostly because we know that there are still some people out there burning through the episodes. However, we will tell you this much: He appears in the second episode of the season, and he is credited as “yurt clerk.” Oh, and it’s also awesome (which you probably guessed).
We also have one other friendly reminder, mostly because show creator Mitch Hurwitz cared so much about it that he chose to write a handwritten letter about it: Watch the episodes in order. As excited as you may be to watch Harmon’s very-brief appearance on the show, you want to have an idea as to what in the world is going on around him. Don’t just skip around just because you want to see more of Jason Bateman or Michael Cera. The payoff’s not worth it.
The only real evidence that such a cameo was going to happen prior to the series launching online was that Hurwitz and Harmon spent some time hanging out together last summer, and if you surmised that a cameo came out of this this then you are a ninja.
And yes, there are still rumors out there about Harmon coming back on “Community” for season 5 after previously being shown the door, but we’re still not holding our breath on that one since it’s much better not to get our hopes up only to have our dreams crushed later.
