‘Graham Norton’: Will and Jaden Smith give the best ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ tribute ever

BBC OneWho says Memorial Day Weekend has to be a boring one when it comes to TV coverage? Apparently, you just have to go across the pond this weekend if you are looking to have a good time.

During Saturday’s edition of “The Graham Norton Show,” Will Smith, who famously appeared on the show in the past and gave a memorable performance of the theme song to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” managed to up the ante yet again in promotion of his new movie “After Earth.” Joined by his son Jaden, the two went through what we like to refer to as a cascade of pure awesomeness that will make fans of the hit 1990s comedy cry out with joy.

1. Smith introduced his old pal DJ Jazzy Jeff, who got the party really started.

2. Smith and his son engaged in a performance of the song, and it was refreshing to see that Jaden had apparently watched enough of it over the years to have down some of the lyrics (though it must help that most of the world thinks your dad is the coolest guy on the planet).

3. Then, Smith brought out another surprise old friend for a dance party, which eventually made us think of that great “History of Dance” YouTube video. He also managed to convince Graham to join in on the act at one point … which added another layer of brilliance.

We hope that in some sort of bizarre way, Smith’s actions serve as some sort of inspiration for other potential sitcom icons to embrace their old work, rather than try to avoid talking about its mere existence. We won’t name names here, but you know who you are.
