Even before “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 came to a conclusion, there was one thing that we were pretty sure of and that is if Camilla Luddington survived, she would probably be rewarded a spot as a series regular for the next year. She was certainly a major-enough character to deserve it, and plus, this would lock her in to be used at any point over the next year so long as Shonda Rhimes gave her a phone call.
So has a promotion happened? Not based on what Luddington said yesterday. While she wrote on her Twitter account that a promotion has not happened yet, it is something that she hopes will happen soon and is “crossing [her] fingers” for it.
For Luddington, it seems like this would be an especially important promotion to lock down. She’s fairly busy thanks to shooting an upcoming movie, and also has done plenty of promotional events as they voice of the new Lara Croft on “Tomb Raider.” Basically, this is someone you want to make sure you have locked down. The only thing that is really working against her is that “Grey’s Anatomy” has a pretty enormous cast as is, and it’s also one that probably needs to keep its budget in check. However, if this is the final season coming up (which it very well could be, given how long the show has went on already), it could be a good idea for it to go out making sure that you have all of the pieces that you want in play.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 will start filming later this summer, and the premiere should take place during that standard time around the last week in September. If you want to read some more news about the future of a few characters in Cristina and Owen, just be sure to visit the link here.
