‘The X Factor’ UK: Tulisa Contostavlos confirms exit on Twitter

Regardless of whether or not you were a fan of Tulisa’s during the time in which she was on “The X Factor” UK this season, there is one thing that you can say about her now: She chose to go out with dignity and with no ill will about anyone.

On the same day in which it was finally revealed that Sharon Osbourne was on the judging panel in her place, she took to her Twitter account to explain that even though she may be off of the hit ITV series, there are still some exciting things to look out for soon when it comes to what she is up to next:

“Just wanted to let you all know that I won’t be part of the X Factor panel this year. I’ve had a great time on the show, but this year it’s time to do something different.

“I’d like to thank everyone on The X Factor for two amazing years. Stay tuned as I have a very exciting announcement soon.”

Tulisa’s exit feels in many ways bittersweet. We know that bringing Sharon back is a slice of “X Factor” nostalgia, and her recent album was not a smash hit on the charts, but we rather liked what she brought to the show. She was always honest, a caring mentor, and she even won just over a season ago with Little Mix. She also tried to bring a young, urban vibe to a series that has gotten progressively older when it comes to average viewership, and while we love Sharon, we’re not sure that she helps that.
