‘Hell’s Kitchen’ preview: Going global … and going to a new night
While there may not be much to be excited about right now when it comes to new programming this week (mostly because we’re in that terribly awkward period between the end of normal programming and the start of summer TV), there is still something new worth watching on Fox: More “Hell’s Kitchen.” The show will be getting situated in its new Thursday-night time slot with an episode that starts things off with a major change.
While we don’t have an explanation for it just yet, it appears as though Nedra is going to be shifted over to the blue team in an effort to light her fire after a few off weeks, which may or may not work since the blue team does not have an imprint of success on the show. If nothing else, though, maybe she will help them actually win a challenge for a change … maybe.
The theme for the upcoming competition is pretty simple: Try to show off your expertise with international cuisine. Apparently in an effort to distract the guys and sink them even further (we say this sarcastically), Gordon Ramsay has made this decision to bring in a number of models dressed in international clothing. The moment we saw this, our immediate thought was that this entire challenge would rest solely on Nedra to figure it out.
We are starting to get near the black jacket phase of the competition, which is to us always the most interesting since you have everyone working together, and there really is no room to hide if you are not finding a way to step it up.
What’s your take on the challenge, and do you think that Nedra could actually flourish on the Blue Team? If you want to read our most-recent “Hell’s Kitchen” interview, you can do so over here.
