2013 Critics’ Choice TV Awards: Andrew Lincoln, ‘Orphan Black’ among surprise nominations
Awards season is finally upon us and the 2013 Critics’ Choice Television Awards nominations were announced on Wednesday, giving us yet another reason to wish that someday, this show manages to surpass the Emmys in importance. We’re going to analyze the individual categories in the coming days, but overall, we love the audacity shown here. “Modern Family,” the longtime darling of many, was largely shunned here, whereas longtime fan favorites such as “The Middle,” “Bunheads,” “Happy Endings,” and even new series like “Orphan Black” (which we are crazy about here at Cartermatt.com) on BBC America have made an imprint.
The few things that we do want to mention now include the significant love shown to “The Americans” (with four nominations that are completely deserved in our opinion), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau getting a nod for “Game of Thrones” over Peter Dinklage (our favorite to win), and Alex Karpovsky overtaking Adam Driver as the top contender for “Girls.” Check out the full list below, and be sure to share some of your picks! This show will take place on June 10, and will be streamed online for the first time.
