Usually, Memorial Day is a pretty awful time for new TV. People are off barbecuing and many kids (at least in the south) are celebrating the fact that school is out, and sitting inside when you could be out drinking lemonade in the sun is not too much of a priority.
However, the holiday itself seems to be the exception this year. While the day before (practically a Saturday, to most people) is going to be by and large a day consisting of reruns, A&E is getting set to launch on Monday night their two highest-rated scripted series in “Longmire” along with “The Glades.” We recently shared some footage when it comes to the latter, and what we have for you here is an quick look at what happens when the sheriff comes back into town.
We love to refer to this series as a Western with automobiles, and one of the reasons why is that many of the same themes are still there. You have lawmen, evildoers, a familiar setting, and also big personalities. This show emerged last summer as a runaway hit, and as viewers start to starve for original scripted content next month, this could fill up their TV tummy (especially if they are not an avid “Mad Men” viewer). The first few weeks of June are always the toughest, and then some more content starts to slowly trickle in yet again.
What’s your take on the “Longmire” tease, and are you pumped for the show to start back up? As always, we want to hear from you below! If you want to watch that full promo for “The Glades,” you can do so over here.
