NBC’s ‘The Voice’ top 10: What the Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery could sing

The VoiceFor the first time all season long, we have some scoop on the performances that you are going to see on “The Voice” prior to the show airing. There are some good songs mixed in here, some questionable choices, and also some that actually feel different than anything we’ve heard on singing shows lately. This is why, as robotic as our hosting duo here may be, this show does trump “American Idol” right now from the standpoint of entertainment.

These song spoilers come to us via NBC, who were kind enough to announce the songs … even if we don’t know which artists singing them.

“Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson – Tough song. Good luck.

“Heads Carolina, Tails California” by Jo Dee Messina – It’s definitely one of the country singers!

“How Great Thou Art” – Could be a good song for the evangelical audience, but very hard to sing.

“Clocks” by Coldplay – Even harder song. Not only that, but there’s really not that much singing in it.

“The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson – We’re not going to be that impressed if Judith Hill sings this, since it just feels like hitting an obvious note.

“Adorn” by Miguel – Woohoo! Someone’s going super-current. Sounds for sure like Kris Thomas to us.

“Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink – It wasn’t that long ago that Amber Holcomb performed this song on “American Idol,” and we’re never huge fans of a duet being performed by only one person. Kind of eliminates the purpose, no?

“Mamma Knows Best” by Jessie J – We’re glad it’s not the same Jessie J song everyone typically does on this show.

“Next To Me” by Emile Sande – Meanwhile, it’s the Emile Sande song everyone is singing right now.

“How Country Feels” by Randy Houser – Swon Brothers? This is going to be a tough night for these guys, since they are probably also dealing with the massive tornadoes hitting their home state of Oklahoma right around now.

Want to know where we ranked the singers coming into tonight’s episode? That’s what our rankings over here are for! Give them a read and enjoy.
