‘Nikita’ season 4: Maggie Q on hopes for final season
There are a number of ways that you can look at the “Nikita” season 4 renewal; you can either be sad about the fact that the show is only coming back for six more episodes, or you can be grateful that something that has consistently low ratings (and an action budget that can’t come cheap) is getting a shot to really go out under its own accord. We’re looking towards the latter, as this is something that The CW has been very good about lately to all long-running shows not named “90210.”
So for Maggie Q, she is clearly not holding her head down over saying say goodbye. Instead, she tells IGN that she is looking at the six episodes ahead as a blessing, one that they can use to tell a series of great stories and give fans the conclusion that they want:
“Creatively, I’m really excited. Because in a final season, banging out six episodes… You know how big our episodes are. We’re going to make these even bigger, because there’s only six. So we want to go out movie-style, you know what I mean? Do six movies. You know where we ended it. This season, Season 4, it has to be fast-paced, right? She’s out there.”
While we would have personally preferred to see 13 or so episodes in which to say goodbye, mostly because that count worked so great for both “Chuck” and “Fringe,” we’ll still be happy for the six we are given. Now, we just have to wait and see where The CW decides to put it. Our guess is that something will be inevitably canceled early, and then it will serve as a fill-in until they are ready to launch something else.
One last thing to celebrate? That “Nikita” at least wrapped up the season with somewhat-higher ratings than it had in the weeks prior.
