‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: A love triangle and Nina Dobrev’s Elena
During the season 4 finale of “The Vampire Diaries” on Thursday night, there was a major moment as we finally saw Elena (Nina Dobrev) make a choice between Damon (Ian Somerhlader) and Stefan (Paul Wesley). So who was it? Even without the sire bond weighing her down, she still opted to go with the bad boy in Damon. It’s a move that probably made many a fan squeal with delight, though we also imagine that many of these said fans were also not people who have been rooting for “Stelena” to get together ever since the beginning of the show’s run.
But is Elena choosing Damon really the end … or are we ever really going to close that door? Based on what executive producer Julie Plec is saying now, we are probably going to be going around and around a little bit more with these two characters before we ever reach any sort of concrete resolution. After all, here is what the showrunner had to say on the matter in a Twitter reply on whether or not Stefan and Elena had any hope left as a couple at all:
“[The] series is, has always been and will always be a love triangle.”
So there you have it: Even though Stefan is probably off being miserable somewhere while being trapped in a hole, there is still a shot that he could end up with Elena at the end of the day … though he probably needs to figure out just how in the world he wants to deal with Silas first.

i say stefan and elena make the show spark they never got a real chance of being happy they always had something to do. stefan love is pure and true unlike damon. please put them together i dont feel like watching the show with them parted and seeing stefan in pain. i hope elena feels and sees the difference she used to keep saying it will always be stefan what happen to that. and damon never came for her stefan did risking everythin to be with her. damon is better of being bad. i hope they give us some spoilers about what happens to stefan and elean in season 5 which will give us some hope for us stelena fans.

what happen to elena saying its always going to be stefan that damon tried to kill her brother. true love and epic love should be kept that way just because some bad boy come in between it shouldn/t change how can it be reality when its not. stefan should be elena’s every choice even if she has to choose a million times that is what love is how can she choose damon and not even talk to stefan about it, or let him go where is the love. stefan will need elena;s love to get back from the shook now its her turn to be there for him and damon should back off and find someone else to love it doesnt matter if he wants to protect her but if he loves elena he should know what she really wants is stefan and not him and leave them be.
this show put me off. the reason i;ll watch this show is if stelena are back.

delana if a vampire myth is true it should be damon cause its kinda more romantic that some badboy changes cause they fell in love with a girl so bad but trying hard to be good… good show should be apply like epic but better show apply in reality… like something good but not too good will have something exiting to watch…. so cheers to damon….

I love the bad boy Damon but I prefer Stefan. It must be Stefan at the first place. After all this time they’ve been together, this is what true love means and they have history together.

DAMON ALWAYS!!! stelena is kinda just boring cause stefan is all serious all the time but DAMON is protective, fun, caring and really loves her !

“stelena is kinda just boring cause stefan is all serious all the time” Not really…he has been serious when Elena goes through tough crap, which happens a lot! but he is still lighthearted and especially mature, unlike Damon. “but DAMON is protective” Abusive actually…or don’t you remember how much of an ass he was with her in season 3 at the Mikaelson’s home? and has repeatedly said he’d prefer to throw her somewhere in a well than to let her make any dumb decisions. “, fun, caring and really loves her !” Fun? sometimes, but mostly puts her in danger. Caring? and really loves her? He is selfish…he desires her…he doesn’t love her. He WANTS her and because of that he has been crossing the line since the beggining of the show by trying to steal her from his own BROTHER! and when he doesn’t get what he wants, he just explodes and kills or has sex with someone and hurts people. He doesn’t love his brother…he doesn’t care about anyone except himself and whatever he wants. That’s the truth.

That is absolutely FALSE. You are referring to Stefan, not Damon. Damon said, since he liked Elena, that he would prefer to throw her in a well in order to NOT make any decisions (since she always made decisions that seemed stupid and dangerous to Damon) about herself and others, given that she was compassionate and cared for others before herself. Stefan always listened to Elena and let her make her own choices , which is what Damon never actually wanted to do and didn’t. Damon IS selfish and Stefan is compassionate, that’s something that was clear in her head when she was a human, but now that she is a vampire with the after effects of the sire bond and recently turning on and off her humanity….she doesn’t think, feel, or see things clearly at all…her head is messed up.

This is so true. Stefan has always respect Elena choice. This shows when Stefan saves Matt first when Elena and Matt drowning because he follows Elena’s choice and wants what is the best for her.

EXACTLY! You nailed it. Also in season 3 at the Mikaelson’s house when Damon is forcing Elena to go away and she snaps at him and he tells her that he acts that way because he loves her and she says: Maybe that’s your problem. She says this because, as Stefan later tells him, he was being a jerk with her and treating her like crap.

I hope Elena stay with Damon because he don’t hold anything back from her that’s what she need and let her make her choice weather or not she want to do something or put herself in a situation. Even thou she is a vamp Stephan still try and and protect her.

That relationship is not gonna last…Damon will mess it up and Elena will, hopefully, open her eyes and admit how much of a mess and selfish person is Damon. The end.
