‘Bates Motel’ season 1 finale spoilers: Take a deeper look into ‘Midnight’
What is it with all of the shows ending right about now? We’ve already been forced into saying goodbye to a pretty high percentage of shows on the prime time schedule, and on Monday night, you’ll be doing the same exact thing from “Bates Motel.” We know that only having ten episodes in a season is probably frustrating to people out there, and as an avid viewer of “Game of Thrones,” we know the feeling. Then again, better to leave people wanting more, right? This show has already been renewed for a second season, so there is no real reason to worry.
When it comes to talking about this final episode, this is one where it is hard to really share anything substantial without letting loose a major spoiler, so let’s instead say exactly what we are comfortable with via the network’s synopsis:
“Romero decides to take action; Norman brings Emma to the dance; Norman gets a ride home from Miss Watson.”
There are also a few other clear teasers in the finale’s promo below, including the question as to whether or not Norma should get a gun, what brings Norman closer to his mother, and the possibility of a high body count. Shows like this are constantly building towards a major event, and the question here comes in what that event will be, and how will the characters respond to it.
While we know we’re not going to be hearing much in terms of story from “Bates Motel” for a while following this season, we may at least hear some buzz via awards season. The show may be a long shot in the overall category, but we wouldn’t rule out Vera Farmiga or Freddie Highmore for best actor/actress nominations just yet.
Speaking of Highmore, you can click here if you want to read some specific spoilers from him about this episode.
