Frasier revival season 1 episode 4 spoilers: ‘Trivial Pursuits’

A little bit later this week you are going to be seeing season 1 episode 4 of the Frasier revival. Want to know more about it?

Well, for starters, we are going to see a story titled “Trivial Pursuits,” but we’re not so sure that this is going to just be about a board game. Instead, this will be about Freddy and Frasier trying to figure out a way to bond — if that is something that is even possible. They’ve had such a complicated history and with that in mind, there are some challenges that they have to figure out.

Freddy aims to show his father that he’s not “just a firefighter,” but rather part of a noble and fulfilling cause–then picks the worst possible day to invite Frasier to the firehouse.

If nothing else, we do tend to think that this episode could be essential when it comes to furthering along the relationship between Frasier and Freddy, which is at the center of this new show. Ultimately, we think that the writers are going to need to figure out a new style and tone for the revival, things that help to set it aside from what we’ve seen in the past. You want to have some elements of nostalgia from the original show and Cheers before that, but you can’t just rely on that and that alone. If you do that, you are really just setting yourself up to fail at the end of the day.

Just know this — we have to wait to see what Paramount+ thinks about the success of the revival, as they don’t release ratings on a weekly basis. This does lend a lot of uncertainty to the proceedings as we wait and see what the future holds
