‘Elementary’ season 1 finale spoilers: Sherlock vs. Moriarty and more

ElementaryWhile there were times early on in its run that “Elementary” definitely felt a little slow, the series has picked up steam leading up to what is set to be a pretty dramatic season finale airing on Thursday night. It is here that we are finally going to have an opportunity to see what Sherlock Holmes does with the knowledge that Irene Adler is not exactly as dead as he originally thought. Meanwhile, we are also going to continue to see the presence of a certain longtime adversary of Sherlock’s grow, and build towards a shocking conclusion that will lead the character to London for the season 2 premiere in the fall.

While the official synopsis via CBS does not necessarily give a great deal away, you should at least have a somewhat-better idea as to what to expect from reading it:

“As Sherlock reels at the reappearance of his former lover, Irene Adler, a series of flashbacks unravel the tumultuous events that led to his downfall into addiction. Meanwhile, he and Joan once again find themselves in the crosshairs of the enigmatic Moriarty.”

Just in case this is not enough for you, the sneak peek below also give you an opportunity to read a little bit more about what happens when Sherlock and Joan try to cope with Irene’s sudden arrival on the scene, and how in the world he is actually going to be able to care for someone else after having been the person in need of care most of the season.

There is also one other key element that will be explored through this: Joan getting the first real opportunity to actually dive into some investigative work on her own. It’s scary, but could make for great storytelling.

What do you want to see happen in this finale, and are you still as thrilled as we are to see “Game of Thrones” star Natalie Dormer on the show? We want to hear from you below!
