‘American Idol’ finale spoilers: What Mariah Carey, Keith Urban will perform
For some of you who have sat around watching “American Idol” all season long and complained that the show is “all about the judges,” you’re probably going to really groan when you hear this: The show will feature at least three of them in the finale Thursday night performing on stage.
It has already been revealed, for example, that Mariah Carey will perform a medley of her greatest hits over the years, largely because the performance has already been filmed. Not only that, but Randy Jackson is going to accompany the “We Belong Together” singer on the bass. Long before the show, Randy was well-known for some of his performances with Journey and a number of other bands. He also served as her manager for a time before the two parted ways a little earlier on in the year.
Meanwhile, Keith Urban has also been officially booked, and his performance of choice will be none other than new single “Little Bit of Everything,” which he teased a little earlier on in the week on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show.
So what about Nicki Minaj? There’s nothing confirmed as of yet, and this could be because she does not have any new music coming out at the moment. With that being said, it’s still somewhat of a shock given that she has the most current music out of anyone, and it’s an easy platform for her to put on an entertaining performance.
Stay tuned: There are still some surprises to be announced on the show, including some that may not even be known to anyone until hours before they actually happen. We do already know that Psy will be performing … so get excited for that! (In between him and Carly Rae Jepsen, the show has done a great job this year of booking people who were huge last year.)
