Yellowjackets season 3: Latest writers’ room update!

Yellowjackets season 2

We know that the desire for Yellowjackets season 3 news is very much out there and in the end, there’s one thing this week that excites us the most. We know that we had to wait a long time for it, but the writers are back at work!

In a new post on Twitter, co-showrunner Ashley Lyle confirmed that the writers’ room has already opened by noting a celebration recently took place at the famed Magic Castle. The room re-opened following the end of the WGA strike; for those who were not aware, the room originally opened a day before the strike started, only to close again.

We do recognize still that we are facing a long wait until we see the series back on the air, but remember that good things come to those who wait! The SAG-AFTRA strike has yet to reach a conclusion and for now, it is hard to imagine that production will begin at any point this year. Still, it could start in early 2024 and if that happens, a release date next year could still happen.

Also, remember that technically, there is still a bonus season 2 episode that Showtime still has to air! They have been pretty darn coy on sharing more news when it comes to that, but it’s nice to at least know that it is coming almost as an appetizer-of-sorts to whatever is coming up later.

When will Showtime announce a lot more season 3 news?

We’re probably still months away from that in but in general, our biggest question is just how the writers are going to work in order to process the death of Natalie, whose demise was both sudden and shocking within the season 2 finale.
