‘Arrow’ season 1 finale spoilers: Exec on what’s next for Oliver, Laurel

ArrowBased on how much ground there is to cover on Wednesday night’s “Arrow” season finale, it feels as though the fans have quite a bit to look forward to. There’s the continuation of the Roy Harper plot, Felicity being questioned by Detective Lance, Malcolm of course doing his best super-villain laugh yet again, flashbacks to the island, and of course, what comes next when it comes to Oliver and Laurel.

We have admittedly (many times over) become an unabashed Oliver / Felicity fan, but we understand that this is the pairing that was set up as the end game of the series. They have a history together that dates back years, and while she may not be able to vocalize it yet, she can see the sort of “superhero change” that he has made.

In following up that steamy hookup from last week, will there be even more of the same? Probably not, since you don’t want to run the rest of suffocating the characters under all that heat. Instead, we have the following quote from Marc Guggenheim (executive producer) in an interview with TV Guide:

“We tried to handle it in the way that was most true to both characters and their evolution. They have a wonderful scene in the finale that really speaks not just to them sleeping together, but to their entire relationship — and not just over the course of the season, but over the course of their entire lives. Episode 21 gave us a real glimpse into what their relationship was like before Oliver went on the boating trip. So the finale takes all that information and ties a nice bow around it and perhaps gives you some new ins”

There is still so much ground for you, dear reader, to cover as well leading up to the “Arrow” finale. In the event that you have not yet caught the first promo for the episode, we have it for you. Enjoy, and let the obsessing begin.
