‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ lands premiere date day after Mama June’s wedding

Honey Boo BooIt seems that TLC knows the perfect timing to announce the new season of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” Just one day after two of the series’ biggest stars in “Mama” June Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson married in a camo-themed ceremony in their hometown of McIntyre, Georgia, the network has announced when the season that will feature some of these upcoming events is going to air.

The date that we are looking at here specifically is Wednesday, July 17 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, with the press release promising a whole heap of adventures for Alana Thompson and the rest of the famous clan. There is a tease in there about whether or not Sugar Bear will “put a ring on it,” but we clearly know an answer to that already.

Last summer, there is little questioning that “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” became a breakout hit on TLC. It received big ratings for the network, and perhaps equally importantly, it managed to bring a whole new level of pop-culture buzz to the network that they have not had since “Jon and Kate Plus 8” hit the air. Of course, the question now is whether or not they can really keep it up. Alana is a year older, and is thus more self-aware and opinionated about what she wants and doesn’t want. Meanwhile, the family has also stayed out of the spotlight as of late, and are probably going to need something to go viral again in order to re-capture the attention of most of America.

Are you interested in watching “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” again, or did you really have enough of Alana and company the first time? If you want to read some more news about the family’s big wedding, you can do so over at the link here.
