‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Emilia Clarke books ‘Futurama’ role

Emilia ClarkeEven though “Futurama” may be wrapping up on Comedy Central later this year, there is at least some pretty cool news coming up that should provide some sort of fun: The Mother of Dragons is coming!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke is going to guest-star on an upcoming episode of the animated comedy where she will be taking on the part of a flower shop owner with a rather interesting twist. She is actually incapable of smelling anything. This ultimately makes her a little bit bad at her job, no? Well, we don’t know the answer to that, but what we can say, though, is that she has a pretty interesting story coming up in her episode. Here is what executive producer David X. Cohen had to say on the subject:

“She falls in love with Dr. Zoidberg — the smelliest character on Earth in the future — but she can’t smell him, so it’s a match made in heaven … However, being a doctor, he has the opportunity to perform a nose transplant and give her a sense of smell, which would destroy their romance, so it’s a big dilemma.”

Clarke has become a rather busy woman these days. She has spent most of the spring working in the Broadway adaptation of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and she also has been rather busy as of late auditioning for some various film projects. “Game of Thrones” season 4 will start shooting this summer, and she will of course be back to work on that soon.

Are you thrilled to hear that Clarke is joining “Futurama”? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can check out some news related to Sunday night’s “Game of Thrones” over here.
