‘Top Shot’ season 5: History finally sets premiere date for ‘All-Star’ competition
It has been a long time coming, but on Wednesday, History finally unveiled their premiere date for the fifth season of “Top Shot”: Wednesday, May 29 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time (9:00 Central), which will be competition with “Best Ink,” “The Big Brain Theory,” and “Top Chef”.
This show in particular has had a pretty unusual road to returning to the air. It’s been over a year since the premiere of season 4, and production here has been done since the fall. So what was the reason for the delay? We don’t want to get into politics one way or the other, but you can probably figure it out based on what has been in the headlines over the past six months. Regardless of whether or not this was really the reason for the delay, it’s probably a good thing that the show took some time off.
This new season features a lineup of all-stars from past seasons of the show coming back for some sort of redemption, and it includes the following people: Adam Benson (season 1), Alex Charvat (season 3), Blake Miguez (season 1), Brian Zins (season 2), Chee Kwan (season 4), Chris Cerino (season 1), Gabby Franco (season 4), Gary Quensenberry (season 3), Greg Littlejohn (season 4), Jamie Franks (season 2), Joe Serafini (season 2), Kelly Bachand (season 1), Kyle Sumpter (Season 4), Peter Palma (season 1), Phil Morden (season 3), and William Bethards (season 4).
As for whether or not it is a little early for the show to have an all-star season just four runs in, that is a worthy debate to have. History must be awfully confident with its cast since they would rather bring back top competitors rather than take a chance on new shooters.
