‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ review: The Alexis Bellino ‘bully’ debate

Real Housewives of Orange CountyWhile there have been some occasionally-entertaining moments on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” so far this season, we are almost feeling like the show should eventually be re-titled “The Real Rehash of Orange County.” So much of this really just felt like more of what we have seen oh-so many times before.

This episode yet again focused on the aftermath to Tamra Barney’s gym opening which went completely off the rails when Alexis Bellino got emotional, a fight broke out, and she played the bullying card much like she did last year. Meanwhile, many of the other ladies blasted her for some of the comments, with Heather Dubrow seeming to be the most offended that Alexis continues to use a word that is being overused at the moment in society.

From here, things only became more maddening, as Alexis revealed that she had to go on Xanax after the events in Costa Rica last year. If this is the case, then why in the world is she hanging out with these people? We aren’t in Alexis’ position, so it is really rather unfair for us to sit here and ponder whether or not she really needed the medication. However, we do understand the frustration the other ladies must feel with a woman who seems to be constantly victimizing herself.

The only person who seemed to be genuinely willing to try and talk Alexis through all of this was new cast member Lydia McLaughlin, but Alexis really did not seem to be altogether interested in any advice that she was getting. Instead, she just said that she didn’t want to be around the other women … even though Alexis continues to be a part of the show, anyway.

So really, the best way to sum up this hour is pretty simple: Alexis and the other women don’t get along, and we’re not sure that there is any sort of permanent solution to it. This makes for engaging television, at least for a few minutes then it starts to become a little sad.

What did you think about this week’s episode, and are you getting a little fed up with the constant bullying claims? If you want to read some more news when it comes to the show, you can do so over at the link here.
