‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Fantasia, and Jennifer Lopez

For the start of this Monday edition of “American Idol” notes, we have to get into some performances courtesy of Jessica Sanchez’s concert that she had for viewers all around the globe earlier today.

The only criticism at all that we had for this chat via Interscope Records was strictly the time of day that it happened: while people were either in school, getting home from school, or transitioning from work to home. Not only that, but it was ridiculously early in the morning for many of Jessica’s Asian fans to listen (and she is a huge star in the Philippines). Nonetheless, we have the first part of the video event below, and it includes everything from an acoustic performance of lead single “Tonight” along with some other new music from “Me, You, & the Music,” which officially arrives in stores tomorrow.

Fantasia on “The View” – We will be the first to admit that we have not been the biggest fan of every little thing that Fantastia has put out over the years, mostly because some of the songs have frustrated us and the genre in R&B / soul is not really our cup of tea. However, we still think that her new single “Lose to Win” is stellar, inspirational, and perfect for the season 3 champ at this point in her life. Jennifer Lopez rumors – Stop us when this one sounds familiar: Jennifer Lopez is returning to “American Idol”! Okay, you’ve probably stopped us at this point. If you believe Radar Online, the singer has already been asked to come back to the show after what is being labeled as a judging fiasco this year. But how is Lopez any better? This is what we don’t really buy from this story. She not only is expensive, but she was criticized most of the time during her run on the show for never really giving criticisms so much as just assorted praise.
