‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Adam Lambert, Lee DeWyze
For this edition of “American Idol” notes, we are in part talking mostly about what some former stars of the show are saying about this season. Before we come to that, though, why not share a new announcement for everyone excited to pick up Jessica Sanchez’s debut album?
In just two days, “Me, You, & the Music” is going to be available in stores, but in preparation for that she is going to be holding a live concert on YouTube tomorrow afternoon. For more details, be sure to check out what Jessica has to say in the video below.
Now, let’s turn to what we mentioned at the start of the article. We know that there have been a good many people clamoring to see Adam Lambert hit the stage again, as this is the first time since his original season in which he has not appeared in some capacity. However, this seems thus far to be in part a result of some of his traveling and touring more than anything else.
Earlier this past week, Adam seemed to throw some of his support behind Angie Miller, though he also complimented the entire field of ladies left in the competition:
“Just watched @AmericanIdol having missed the past 5-6 weeks… And the girls are good, but @AngieAI12 gives me chills when she sings #star”
Meanwhile, Lee DeWyze did not pick a specific favorite in a chat with Casey Abrams (who does post-show interviews for The Hollywood Reporter), though he did hand down a comment that really covers all of the ladies:
“The show is just as cool as it’s ever been, the girls are amazing, the talent is great. They are all very positive and moving forward.”

I really am not interested in the outcome of AI this season as the show is very predictable AI wants and will make sure a girl wins. They made sure all the good looking and most vocally talented guys were eliminated before Top 10. A few guys in Top ten were good but not caliber to win the title. If producers don’t make major changes by getting rid of the judges they have now and not steering judges toward a certian gender the show will be history. However I do feel that Candice is clearly the most talented and Angie although a good singer is too much of a “pageant” type of contestant.

I agree that all the girls are good this year (although a few males would have been nice also) but my favorite is Candace … to me her voice ‘soars’ above the rest. When she sang …”Don’t Make Me Over” … I could feel the little hairs on the back of my neck stand just like they used to when Dionne Warwick sang it back in the ’60s. What a stellar performance that was … she won my vote that night & I haven’t voted since ADAM was on AI8!!
