‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: ’24,’ ‘Person of Interest’ actor to play…

While we know already that Charlotte Rampling, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Yvonne Strahovski (returning as one-time love interest Hannah McKay) are among the big-name guest stars appearing on “Dexter” season 8, we also have word now about someone whose role is very much shrouded in mystery for the time being.

According to TV Guide, “24” actor and show villain Julian Sands, whose other notable credits including “Castle,” “Stargate SG-1,” and “Person of Interest,” is set to appear in at least one episode of the show’s final season. As for his role, all we can confirm for the time being is that he will be playing the part of an international businessman named Miles Foster.

Typically when we see these sort of characters announced midseason, the easy assumption to make is that they are someone likely to end up on Dexter Morgan’s table. However, this one could run a little bit deeper than that. After all, we do not expect things to be run-of-the-mill by any means this season, given that the show is nearing what is sure to be both a violent and surprising end. Is Dexter really going to have time to take some more criminals down, especially given the total state of disarray that his life may be in? It’s a worthy question, but one we cannot even hope to answer until the new season premieres on Showtime June 30.
