‘Glee’ season 4 notes: Naya Rivera’s draft party; Kevin McHale talks Cory Monteith

Naya RiveraWhile there may not be much scoop on the final two episodes of “Glee” season 4 coming out this week, we do at least have something else to talk about that is very much welcome: What the cast members have been up to for the past few days.

When it comes to Naya Rivera, much of her weekend has been spent celebrating her little brother Mychal. The young man played college football at the University of Tennessee, and was drafted for the NFL this weekend by the Oakland Raiders with the 16th pick in the 6th round. If you want to get crazy about it, the number 6 seems to be pretty significant to the Rivera family right now, given that “Glee” was recently renewed through to the end of the sixth season.

The other good news about Mychal being drafted by the Raiders is that it’s still in-state of where “Glee” films, so Naya will continue to have much of her family close by.

Kevin McHale talks Cory Monteith – While Cory Monteith has yet to make an official public appearance since leaving a treatment center this week, one of his co-stars did pour on the praise while out at the White House Correspondents Dinner this weekend.  Speaking as a part of a chat with E! News, Kevin McHale (otherwise known as Artie Abrams) had the following to say about what his co-star has accomplished:

“I saw the pictures. He looks great … He’s got a good woman behind him [in Lea Michele].”

McHale has been on the show with Monteith ever since the pilot, as they were a part of the original New Directions along with Michele, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Chris Colfer.
