‘New Girl’ season 2, episode 23 preview: A game-changer for Nick and Jess?

There are not many times in which we have an opportunity to say that any episode of a given show is a can’t-miss, but with Tuesday night’s “New Girl” season 2 installment, we say it without a single tinge of cynicism at all in our voice. This is going to be a pretty huge hour for all longtime fans of the series. Not only should we find out out in “Virgins” how all of these characters ended up having their first time, but there is set to be some pretty big movement forward in the Nick / Jess relationship in comparison to everything that we have seen previously.

In going back to the flashback sequences, we will of course have yet another appearance from Fat Schmidt, as this story really would not be the same without him. Meanwhile, we are also going to get a chance to see Dennis Farina put in one more appearance as Nick’s father, which we know already is not going to happen in real time thanks to the fact that his character is dead.

Back in the present, it also appears that Schmidt’s relationship with a certain old flame is going to also progress in a big way, which is great news for those who enjoy seeing a little bit of the character’s inner big guy come out again. All of this of course is building to what should be a pair of big moments:

1. CeCe’s wedding, and whether or not she is actually going to be able to go through with it.

2. The time Nick and Jess actually figure out just what they want from their relationship.
