NBC’s ‘The Office’ series finale spoilers: Gossip on Steve Carell, Angela Kinsey
As we get closer and closer to the series finale of “The Office” airing on May 16, some of the show’s stars are of course working out ways in which to say goodbye to the beloved show. If you think it is hard for us as fans, just imagine how it is for some of the people who have called this show their home for the past nine years, and have formed friendships with many of their fellow cast members that have lasted even when the cameras are not rolling.
So how did one person in particular end up taking this goodbye? Speaking to E! News in a new interview, Angela Kinsey tried to put it into words just how sad she was to be saying goodbye to “The Office” after so many years:
“It’s like a breakup and then you make yourself listen to the songs you and your ex used to listen to together. It’s like a prolonged goodbye. I can’t wait for the last four episodes, but I think I’m just going to cry all over the place.”
As for what we can expect to see happen, we know that there is some major Dwight / Angela stuff ahead, and some of the final scenes that she and Rainn Wilson shot together were of just the pair.
When it comes to the long-rumored possibility of a Michael Scott reprisal, Kinsey was cagey, but did share what she would like to see if Steve Carell ever made a return appearance:
“If I had my way, I would really want to see Michael and his family. I think he has children. I would like to see him as a father.”
Do you think we will see an appearance from Carell during the finale, and is a Dwight – Angela reconciliation really the only way that these two can have a happy ending? If you want to read our most-recent episode review for “The Office,” you can do so over at the link here.
