ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 19 preview: Huck in the fetal position

Can we go ahead and start lobbying Guillermo Diaz for awards consideration now? Shonda Rhimes has been giving the actor some great material all season long on “Scandal” season 2, and we are going to see yet another example of this now courtesy of Thursday night’s new “Seven Fifty-Two.”

In the wake of the attack on Liv, and his failures in part to complete his most-recent mission (which left him extremely roughed-up last week), the sneak peek below for the episode basically features the character hunched over in some sort of destabilized mental state. The only words that he can really manage to utter are the same ones over and over again. They also happen to be the same ones in the title of this episode.

Huck’s story this week is not only going to play out in the present. We are going to have a few opportunities throughout the episode to flash back to some of his early days, when his operations led him to a frightening and unusual position on the street. We’re going to stay mum on the rest of this plot, but we have a feeling that this is going to do a good job helping to inform audiences a little bit as to why this man has become the trained, but extremely flawed, assassin-of-sorts that he is today.

There are only three episodes left after this one, so here’s to hoping that Huck gets himself out of this terrible position in time to be coherent during the finale (even if Diaz is probably loving the chance to play such a meaty part).
