‘Bates Motel’ episode 6 preview: Will Normal turn [spoiler] in?

If you were to ask the question as to which drama series on TV has some of the most-intense previews out there, you would probably have an answer courtesy of “Bates Motel.” This show sells serious like nobody’s business, creating a grim, creepy atmosphere that also showcases all of the bizarre and terrible layers perfectly when it comes to Norman Bates and the relationships that he has with those close to him.

Ever since Norman first made the discovery that Shelby was up to some pretty shocking things with a poor tied-up girl in his basement, the question for the character has always been just what Norman should do about it. There are of course options out there to turn the man in to the proper authorities, but in doing so, he potentially compromises his own mother’s time outside of prison. It’s a bizarre moral situation for any young man to be in, and you have to ask the question as to how much this particular situation ends up shaping the man that Norman ultimately becomes.

Just based on the acting alone, you can already tell that there are some pretty insane performances coming up. Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga have been the anchors for the show since the very beginning, and we ultimately don’t see that changing at any point in the near future. They give humanity to a pair of characters that could feel even colder and more calculating in less capable hands.
