‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Phillip Phillips, Janelle Arthur
Before we dive into some “American Idol” notes pertaining to two of the most-popular past contestants on the show, let’s kick things off here by sharing a few parting words from the woman in Janelle Arthur who was sent home from the Fox singing competition on Thursday night.
Speaking to E! News after the show, Janelle promised that the producers were working on finding her someone pretty significant for her to sing with on the show’s upcoming finale airing on May 16. Not only that, but the singer also opened up a little bit about a specific connection that she had with a certain judge in Mariah Carey:
“Throughout the live shows, I’ve felt the most connected to Mariah … On results shows, she’s always like lookin’ at me. When I’m over on the couch, she’s always just like glancing over and she’ll give me some sort of wink or like a ‘you look pretty,’ and it makes me feel so good.”
Adam Lambert’s big honor – Want to know just how well Adam is doing in China right now? Let’s just say that the world’s most-populated country has just given him a pretty incredible honor. We’ll let a message from the singer’s Twitter account really do the explaining for us:
“So honored to have received the Chinese Music Award for Fav International Artist tonight!! Thank u Channel V! I had so much fun performing!”
Speaking of that performance, check out clips of “Naked Love” and “Trespassing” in the box below.
Airplay love for Phillip Phillips – We haven’t talked radio airplay in a long time, but we thought we’d take a moment to highlight the fact the reigning champ’s “Gone Gone Gone” is probably going to be in the top ten of the Hot AC chart within the next few days. It’s certainly not often that we have seen a winner of the show have two singles that chart this high, so major applause to both Phillip and his team!

Neither a fan nor a anti-fan, but I must say I couldn’t understand hardly a word he was singing in the first song. Only the chorus and words, naked love, are understandable in the second song. I guess fans probably know all the words, but if you haven’t heard his music you don’t know the words. Really not fun to try to figure the words out.

I am an OBSESSED fan of Adam Lambert and all I can say about radio is that with all the production on the songs, the results aren’t all that special. What is special is when you experience him LIVE, you can FEEL his voice. It is BETTER than the recordings. My favorite CD to listen to is “Glam Nation Live” because you hear his voice the way it was meant to be heard…LIVE!
I can’t wait til he comes to Pittsburgh (my hometown) on June 15.

Maybe he’s not on U.S. radio coz his songs suck. Those 2 in the clip are derivative, monotonous & boring. Nothing unique about him at all.

What’s the size of the Chinese audience…500 million? He has so many fans in Asia, Viet Nam, Japan, Hongkong and Finland.
I read he is going to be on Chinese version of American Idol.
When are the North American radio stations going to give him a chance.
Will he be doing a North American Trespassing tour? Lots of questions.
I just want him to succed and if Asia is the starting point let’s hope his stardom takes him to the west as well.
