‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: Misha Collins teams back up with the Winchesters
Are you ready for some more Castiel in your life? As we near the end of “Supernatural” season 8, of course we are going to see more and more of Misha Collins, given that his character still has quite an important role to play in the course of events moving forward. After all, the actor will be a series regular for the upcoming ninth season, so there has to be some sort of explanation now in order to bring him back.
The details that we have to share now are for the penultimate episode of the season entitled “Clip Show,” which, as you may have heard, is not going to be a series of clips from the show’s past. Instead, it will feature Sam and Dean trying to solve the mystery of the third trial, while at the same time furthering along the mystery of Metatron, and allowing Crowley to continue to be the same sort of horrible guy that we long assumed him to be.
Check out the official synopsis below via The CW:
“Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) reunite with Castiel (Misha Collins). Digging through the Men of Letters’ files, they stumble upon an undiscovered film which could be the key to the third trial. Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) enlists Cass to mull over problems at home. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) digs into Sam and Dean’s past.”
In addition to this synopsis, also be sure to expect the return of Taylor Cole in this episode as Sarah Blake, the woman who served briefly as a love interest for Sam all the way back in the show’s first season.
What do you think is going to happen moving forward on “Supernatural” season 8? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below, and you can also watch a sneak peek from next week’s new episode “Pac-Man Fever” just by paying a visit over to the link here.

Well if Sarah is coming back the same time Crowley is digging into their past, does that mean Crowley’s got something to do with it? I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODES BUT WILL DIE IN HIATUS.

I love Castiel and I am super excited to have more of him :3
I can’t wait for season 9 to have more of his presence <3
Team free will! I just hope he is on Dean and Sam's side and not Heaven's side.
Castiel is one of the best things that happened to this show :)

I wish Castiel was in every episode. He’s such a brilliant character and his chemistry with Dean is the best in TV right now. Dean and Cas and their profound bond is what keeps me watching the show, I hope they keep on choosing each other over everything and everyone that gets in their way, because that’s one of the few thins that makes me truly happy.

Very happy to have more Cas in the future! Love the dynamics between the three of them and he was sorely missed (along with Bobby) last season!

More than ready! I love Cas. Without him there’s always something missing. He’s family now. When he’s gone, it’s like if the show was just Dean/Cas or Sam/Cas. Something huge and vital is missing. Team Free Will is the reason I watch now. don’t get me wrong I love the brother’s dynamic but I’ve always liked them interacting with other characters (Jo, Ellen, Bobby,…).
I hope this “home” Metatron talks about means the bat cave because Winchesters are Cas family now, his home. He should get his own room :)
I don’t undestand this talking about Cas being a fanservice. Do you understand this term? He’s crucial to the plot. Very important piece to this season’s puzzle. Without him there would be nearly no progress, no angel tablet, no interacting with Naomi,…

Oh, killing off the best TV character ever created? Brilliant, indeed. Do you realize that will kill the show as well? Castiel add quite an interesting dynamic to the show and I can’t wait to see how s9 will explore that. The brothers need more support in their lives, more interaction with other characters, being isolated only make the show go stale. The co-dependence should evolve into something more healthy; it would be interesting to see Sam more involved in his role of man of letters and hopefully Sarah will be back in his life, that will give a new balance to his life, he’s always wanted to be out of the hunting life to have a family of his own, but now he can have that without leaving the job completely. And Dean needs to grow out of his self-worthless mindset, to value himself as his own persona, that he doesn’t have to be his brother’s guardian for the rest of his life, to believe he deserves good things, that he deserves to have Castiel.

Castiel makes the show better 10000x ! So yes, more of the most awsome angel of the garrison, please. And not as the new enemy, been done and it was an epic fail. The show is about family and family doesn’t end in blood, Castiel is part of the family and he will always be. And please, stop digging in Dean’s abandonment issues, give him the angel back for good!

I’m more than thrilled to have Cas back. My only complaint is why hasn’t he been in more episodes? There have been too many fillers that added nothing to the show when there is so much unresolved stuff between Dean and Cas, those too together deliver the most brilliant and intense moments of the show and I want to see more of it. “You hope Castiel will return to you.” Yes Naomi, Dean hopes to Cas back, he’s happier when Cas is around and I also hope for the same :)

It’s GREAT that we’re having Cas back. Sam and Dean need him!

Castiel is the most fascinating character of supernatural, at this point I only watch the show for him. Jensen and Misha’s chemistry is what keep me hooked with the show. When Castiel isn’t in an episode it just feel like a boring filler. The best moments are when Dean and Cas work together. I was thrilled to know he’s going to be a regular next season but I hope he does so as part of Team free will and not as an antagonist to the Winchesters. That would ruin the show for me, honestly. Dean is always losing everything end everyone and I’m tired of it, he needs Castiel in his life.

I’m thrilled to have Cas back and to see him interact with Metatron (and eventually reunite with the Winchesters). I feel like all this season I did nothing but wait for him to re-appear. I just hope this time he is indeed Cas and not controlled or manipulated by someone AGAIN. Just Cas. Good thing Misha’s a regular next season. I’m also curious to see how Sarah fits into this episode, if she’ll appear only in Sam’s memory, as a vision or illusion or if it’s really her. I foresee some manpain on Sam’s part.

I’m almost as thrilled as Dean was to have Castiel back!
He provides a huge emotional impact and drives the plot forward. He’s a wonderful character and he’s good for Dean and Sam and for the show as a whole.
Can’t wait to have Team Free Will working together again.
One last thing:
shirtless Sam (or Dean) scene for no apparent reason = fanservice =/= keeping around an amazing character who is loved by the brothers and has a beautiful relationship with one of them and the potential of a great frienship with the other

Yes to more Cas and yes to more actual character development and a moving plot instead of the fairly stagnant series 1 and 2 (which I loved, but couldn’t have watched 8 series of). The show needs Cas, and he isn’t going anywhere.

I just don’t understand the hate for Cas. Sam and Dean have always been and will always be the centre point for this show, stop worrying. The arrival of the angels in season 4 was one of the best moves the writers ever made and probably saved the show from cancelation because of the boost in the ratings in season 4. Of course you can dislike him, but please don’t call for Cas to be killed off, Dean has even admitted to needing him, would you really want to take him away now?

Asdffjsdksk, yes! More Cas please! He’s my favourite character of the whole show, together with the brothers of course. I absolutely love team free will and I cannot wait for season 9 to see even more of Misha :)

Yes! I’m so excited! Castiel is a wonderful character, and I just, I can’t imagine the show without him anymore! Besides, why do they even keep getting rid of him in the first place? This show’s all about family and how it goes beyond blood, and the fact that Castiel and Bobby can’t be with Sam and Dean in almost every episode is ridiculous! They all need each other, and Castiel is no exception to that. I’m so happy that he’s coming back. <3

Love Castiel, he adds so much to the show and to Sam and Dean. Team Free Will have the best dynamic, hilarious and heartbreaking, good entertainment all around :) I love to see Sam and Dean making more friends generally, those poor guys started the show being isolated and lonely, so I’m hoping to see good development!

Without Cas, the show would be missing a key player. The show would be different, and not in a good way. Castiel is necessary.

I always wonder about those people who actually think that solely keeping the brother’s dynamics as it was in season 1/2 could keep the show alive. Really, both of them were (and to most parts still are) so close-knit and dangerously co-dependent because they weren’t able to trust anyone and kept living in their self-loathing dyad, killing themselves off for each other without a second thought because the other one always held more value than they themselves ever could.
If it weren’t for Cas (and Bobby), they would still be stuck in this kind of bitter and hating world, or be dead. That is why I welcome that they are finally able to let other people into their lives and RELY on them. Especially for Dean, this is a huge character development – and development is something a show needs in order to keep going and get better. Dean wouldn’t been able to stay as he was in the first seasons, and he luckily didn’t, and one of the reasons for this is, without a doubt, Cas. And he in itself is really complex and interesting, so I really look forward to the final episodes of season 8 as well as the whole next season.

Absolutely thrilled to have Cas back! So pleased to have Misha as a regular for season 9 too, I can relax a little in the knowledge that they won’t kill him off…or at least we know he’ll be coming back if they do :)

Ready for some Castiel?
YOU BET!
Ready for some mindless haters talking about things they do not understand (like all the haters below!)?
DEFINITELY NOT!
Castiel’s character developement is great and I can’t wait to see him back in line. He added some depth to the show and is a great support for the boys- how could anyone want to see him dead? That’s ridiculous guys!!
I’m thrilled to see Cas back on screen!!!
(Besides: what’s so wrong with fanservice dudes? And if the producers now going to get rid of Cas because of all the junk coming out of your cakeholes, isn’t it fanservice too? Pfff.. peasants!!)

The more Castiel, the better. The character adds interest and a bit of heart to the show. I’d be happy to see him in every episode.

Absolutely want more Castiel, he is my favourite character and I love the enacting between Cas and the Winchester brothers, go Team Will :) This is not fanservice, keeping a much loved character who adds emotional depth and more interesting storylines. I look forward to more episodes with Castiel and season 9 :) I am from the UK and have been a fan of Supernatural since the beginning :)

Of course I want more Castiel in my life, I want Castiel until the very end of the series in fact! he and the Winchester brothers are the perfect trio, I’m from Mexico and my family also loves this series and this character a lot, so yes, give us more of this angel, please! I’ll love this show even more :)

“Are you ready for some more Castiel in your life?”
Answer: ABSOLUTELY! YES! PLEASE! I was so, so pleased when I heard that Misha was promoted to a series regular for Season 9! I can’t wait to have more Cas and *fingers crossed* more of Cas working with Sam and Dean! Jensen, Jared, & Misha are the best trio on television (in my book!)

I wouldn’t consider it fan-service when a show keeps a character that adds emotional depth, a much needed third (seriously guys, THREE characters is not going to kill anyone) perspective and is loved not only by the fans, but by the other characters on the show. Dean has said he needed Cas at least twice this season and after all he’s been through, I’m overjoyed he gets to keep the angel around!

Why this waste-of-space character wasn’t dropped after S5 is beyond me. Supernatural is about Sam and Dean, not “Sam, Dean and Castiel.” So they’re bringing him back as a regular in S9? Fine. Bring him back as the big bad, have the guys “heartbrokenly” kill him off at season’s end, and GET RID OF THE ANGEL STORYLINE FOR GOOD.

“Are you ready for some more Castiel in your life?”
No. Not at all. The fact he keeps coming back is pure fanservice to a very vocal group of fans. Evidently TPTB, sadly, do listen to those who shout the loudest.

Noooo! Why?! NO MORE CAS ! He should’ve stayed killed off. This is totally fan servicing . He should get a spin-off or something for his fans. He ruins the dynamics of the Winchesters and the vibe of the show. My friends and I just started watching again and will stop after this season. This is too much.

Add me to the chorus that is beyond THRILLED to have more Castiel back. He is a wonderful addition to the show, and I’m so glad he was made a regular for season 9. I hope next season we get to see a LOT more of him working alongside Sam and Dean.

Incredibly happy Castiel is coming back and is going to be a regular. He’s added so much to SPN, he’s become an essential part of the show, and I think the trio dynamics of Sam and Dean and Cas are wonderful to watch, I also love the bond between Dean & Castiel. I hope the hints that Castiel may be in the MoL headquarters with Sam and Dean turn out to be the case, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the characters from the past will come into play as Sam goes through the next trial.

Beyond thrilled that Cas is coming back. I adore Cas and he’s my favorite character on SPN right now. Can’t wait to have more Cas in Season 9. Wooo hoooo for Cas back. I love Team Free Will. I love Dean and Sam but for me SPN works best when it’s Dean, Sam and Cas.

I am very definitely not wanting more Castiel. I want him to be killed off already, he’s just unnecessary fanservice at this point.
