NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 4 spoilers: Fear Usher in the battle rounds (video)

The VoiceOn Monday night, we are going to get our first glimpse of the Battle Rounds on “The Voice” season 4, and based on what we are seeing now, it is going to be the most intense version of this stage of the competition yet. This may be a good thing, since save for a few moments here and there (see Amanda Brown from last season), this is traditionally the dull part of the competition.

The biggest thing that we take away from this video is just how seriously Usher takes his work. This is not a guy that you can even pretend to mess around with; if you laugh during a rehearsal or goof off, he will chew you up and spit you out. This guy has actually been producing hits longer than any of the other three judges have in America, so he is seemingly approaching this with one simple philosophy: get the job done, and then go out and celebrate your achievements once it’s over.

So what team is the strongest going into this stage? If we had to pin it down, we would say Adam Levine thanks to the presence of powerhouses Judith Hill, Sasha Allen, and Sarah Simmons. He also has a country star in Warren Stone along with a unique duo in Midas Whale that did very well during the blind auditions (and also has a former “American Idol” star to boot in Jon-Peter Lewis.)

What do you think about this video, and do you think that Usher’s strict style is going to help or hurt him in future seasons on the show? If you want to check out some more of the highlights from the blind auditions, be sure to visit the story over here.
