‘Mad Men’ season 6, episode 3 preview: Take a look ahead by looking back
As you surely know by now, trying to find scoop on “Mad Men” is like trying to catch a unicorn: unless you are dreaming, it’s probably not going to happen. Sometimes we have to look back in order to understand just what is coming up.
With that in mind, check out the new video feature from AMC below featuring creator Matthew Weiner and star Jon Hamm, as the two go piece-by-piece through all of the storylines touched upon in the season premiere. Through this, we really learn above all else that identity is going to be one of the major themes that we should watch out for moving forward. Everyone is ultimately just trying to find themselves in some way, whether it be Don through the idea of what his life should be, Peggy by becoming her own version of Don, or Betty by trying to mask away the perception of her by dyeing her hair black. Is she less distinctive now? Yes, but perhaps that is the point.
This season, for Don especially, is going to be a struggle, and this is what we should expect to see even more of beginning on Sunday night. Will he really be able to stop his affair? He seems powerless to it right now, and it may take a major life event to shock his system and realize what the life he wants truly means. As for Betty and Peggy, we actually think that they are more struggles on the way for them.
What do you think of this video, and does it make you enthused about anything in particular that is coming up on the show? If you want to see another video preview for Sunday’s episode, be sure to check out the story over at the link here.
