‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Ian Somerhalder’s Damon tries [spoiler] again

Ian Somerhalder

If there was one slow, sweet musical number that we would dedicate to Damon Salvatore on “The Vampire Diaries” this season, it would be Jason Mraz’s hit “I Won’t Give Up.” Why is that? Despite how hard Ian Somerhalder’s character tries to show Elena that there is a reason for her to keep her humanity, she just keeps turning him away; and yet, he continues to try to do whatever he can, even with the knowledge that Elena could do something really dangerous if provoked enough.

You may already know that episode 4×20 (airing on April 25) is entitled “The Originals,” and it is the one that could lead to a potential series for Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and his onscreen siblings. Now, we have some details for the episode airing the following week entitled “She’s Come Undone.” You may have already known that Klaus was going to be coming back to New Orleans despite his work there in the episode prior, but what you may not have known that his adventures (and the Salvatores’ latest attempts to help Elena) are only a part of the full story:

“Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) try a brutal new approach to provoke Elena (Nina Dobrev) into turning her humanity back on, and Caroline (Candice Accola) is frustrated when her attempt to intervene backfires. When Elena figures out a way to call the Salvatore brothers’ bluff, they call for backup from a surprising source. Matt (Zach Roerig) gives Rebekah (Claire Holt) some unsolicited advice on her life choices, and she tries to help him in return. Caroline has a confusing and dangerous encounter with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is suspicious when Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes her an offer that she promises will benefit them both.”

The biggest surprise in here to us is the idea of Katherine and Bonnie working together, especially since this could cement that the witch is no longer really interested in working with our heroes. After all, she has a decision to make when it comes to what to do with Shane, and the consequences of her actions in making this choice could be rather severe.
