‘Parks and Recreation’ season 5 spoilers: Who’s set to retire?
Is the Parks and Recreation crew set to have a job opening? We don’t necessarily know that just yet, but we are going to see an upcoming episode focus on an event that will shake-up the Pawnee landscape to a pretty large degree: the retirement of none other than one Jerry Gergich. The character has long been the easy target of ridicule among his co-workers, whether it be for his weight, his clumsiness, his health problems, or just the fact that nobody seems to like him.
In some ways, Jerry been a character that has had some good moments, but only when the writers really decide to delve deep into who he is. (One particular episode from earlier this year, which featured Jerry’s wife and family, is a good example of that.) Let’s hope that whatever happens here, it ends up a little better than the photo attached here tends to indicate. After all, who wants their last moment in the office to be of themselves being set on fire?
While season 5 thus far has been pretty spectacular, what the show needs now are a few more storylines to help push us forward a little bit beyond the immediate future. Now that Ben and Leslie are married, Ann’s hope to get pregnant is the only thing really driving the show forward from one week to the next. Will that change soon? We sure hope so, since we would love to see what the dream for Leslie Knope happens to be next.
