Louisville basketball star Kevin Ware receives ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ honor
It’s never a good thing to go through an injury as horrific as what happened to Kevin Ware of the University of Louisville this past weekend, but after literally smashing his tibia to the point where it was poking out of his skin, the young college basketball star has turned into a household name.
While he cannot play in any more college games this year, he is getting an opportunity to make a mini-talk show circuit, including the prestigious honor of reading the Top Ten List on tonight’s new edition of “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Ultimately, we do have to say that the jokes that are featured in the clip below are really rather lame, which has become sadly a little bit par for the course with Letterman lists as of late. While the #10 and #9 jokes are typically some of the weakest, we do expect big things to come from the #8 choice as the list starts to pick up momentum. (We could do a full analysis of trying to understand the Top 10 list rankings, but we’d be here all day.)
The important thing is that Ware seems to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame in the video below, and is not taking the situation too seriously or allowing it to be a distraction for him and his team. At the end of the day, you really have to consider that this will be a memory that stick with him for the rest of his life, no matter when his basketball career comes to an end.
