‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: How Raj lends a helping hand

Over the course of its six-season run, Raj has at times on “The Big Bang Theory” been regarded largely as the joke, or the goofy doctor of science who can’t talk to women and ends up fantasizing about his best friend’s other half and the voice in his iPhone. With this in mind, it’s been a welcome change of pace to see him with someone in Lucy who is in many ways as damaged as he is. Both have some serious issues and insecurities, and their journey on this series so far has been seeing whether or not they can work through them (and do it together).

Will they work it out? Ultimately, we should find out pretty soon. According to a new report coming in via E! News, an upcoming “Big Bang Theory” season 6 episode near the end of the season will feature Raj and Lucy together presumably on a date, and he will actually be the one helping her overcome some of her serious anxiety problems. Will he be inebriated while lending a helping hand? Probably, but this is hardly anything new for the show to this point, given that we know who Raj is by now.

There is not ultimately going to be too much time after this for Raj and Lucy to work through their problems and see if they will stay together this season, and the reality is that they both may still be too far away. Even if that is the case, though, hopefully we will see the character learn a few things that he can use in his dating future.
