The CW’s ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ revival lands July premiere date

The CW LogoFor those of you out there who are as excited as we are about the upcoming CW revival of “Whose Line is it Anyway,” there is some extremely good news coming out now: we know when the show will be making its big return to TV. The network announced Monday that new episodes, which will be hosted by Aisha Tyler rather than Drew Carey, will air on Tuesday, July 16 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. After getting the chance to air back-to-back episodes for its premiere, it will then shift to air just one episode a week, as the dating show “Perfect Score” (hosted by Arielle Kebbel) comes on immediately afterwards.

This adaptation in “Whose Line” comes after the show had a string of success for many years on both ABC and ABC Family, and many of the old favorite cast members, including Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and Wayne Brady are expected to return. Of course, there will also be some new faces that show up from time to time in order to give the new version of the show a fresh feeling.

Meanwhile, fans of “Breaking Pointe” can rejoice that the ballet-themed series, which became a bit of a sleeper sensation last summer for the network, will be back for more on Monday, July 29 at 9:00. Why so late in the summer months? The easy answer is just that these seasons are never very long, but should keep people engaged with The CW until new programming is close to starting up again.

What show are you the most excited to see come back to the network? If you want to read some more news when it comes to the “Whose Line” revival (and everything awesome that comes with this), you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
