‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Meet a complicated new vampire
Ever since the beginning of “True Blood,” we have had an opportunity to see a whole heap of vampires who get by with some ruthless and rather nasty behavior. With that in mind, isn’t it nice to see one showing off their sensitive side for a change?
According to a new report from TVLine, former “Brothers & Sisters” star Luke Grimes has signed on to appear at around the midway point of the HBO series’ sixth season as James, a vampire who is more emotional than he is constantly enraged. Think of him almost as a vampire hipster if you will: he’s complicated and likes to get real. (Translation? Eric Northman is probably going to hate him, if the two characters ever meet.)
This casting announcement comes just one day after we learned that Gregory House’s green-card wife is also going to be appearing as a vampire, though hers is more of the sexy and dangerous variety. These two join a throng of new guest stars for the season that also includes Rutger Hauer as a presumed “Big Bad” named Macklyn, and Arless Howard as the Governor of Louisiana, a man with a grudge against vampires who is not particularly afraid to act on it.
While there is no official premiere date announced just yet for “True Blood” season 6, it should debut around in the middle of June as it did last year. After all, why waste much time between the end of “Game of Thrones” and the start of this?
What do you think about this casting, and do you think a character like this will work well within the universe of this show? If you do want to read even more casting news in regards to this show, you can do so over here.
