‘Dexter’ season 8: New teaser paired up with ‘Ray Donovan’ sneak peek

Sadly, Showtime is still clutching onto all of the early footage for “Dexter” season 8; however, aren’t you at least happy that they are advertising the series at all?

With that in mind, we have a new video below that serves as an advertisement for both the Michael C. Hall series and the show “Ray Donovan” that is coming out on June 30, which is of course a smart move for the network to capitalize on what is a very successful lead-in. Sadly, all of the “Dexter” footage is of scenes that we have seen already on the show, though it does serve as some sort of nice reminder of everything that has happened so far. Then, what is most newsworthy here is what is not in the ad: a reminder that this is the show’s final season. While this is by no means proof that Showtime is ordering a season (as there is much evidence to the contrary), but it does say that they have not made a format decision on the matter just yet.

As for “Ray Donovan,” we are excited to see Liev Schreiber front and center for a series after often feeling like the second or third guy listed as a part of a movie. The only thing that has us concerned somewhat at the moment is that his character feels almost akin to a more violent version of Olivia Pope, and we don’t know just how much substance there is underneath all of the action. (Personally, we’re sold if he gets Naomi Watts to come on as a guest star.)
