‘Bates Motel’ preview: What’s in store for Norma and Norman Bates this season?
“Bates Motel” has kicked off it’s first season with a bang, but be warned – this show is not for the faint of heart. If you are a fan of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” then you have an idea of what to expect out of Norman Bates and his mother Norma, and “Bates Motel” is definitely not pulling any punches when it comes to the violence factor.
The premiere episode really set the stage as we saw a young Norman Bates try to interact with girls his age, his mother and women in general including his teacher who seems a little too friendly with him. After finding a book under the rug of one of the motel rooms depicting women in violent situations it seems that Norman’s interest has been piqued, even though just hours before he walked in on his mother Norma in a bad situation with the former owner of the motel, Keith Summers.
So what’s in store for the viewers that have the stomach to tune in again? Well according to the new preview, Norma and Norman’s situation with Keith Summers is far from over as the two cops investigating his disappearance start to get closer and closer to discovering their involvement. Norma will end up becoming romantically involved with one of the cops (maybe as a way to get information and keep her and Norman safe?) and she will also have to deal with her other son (Norman’s half brother who only comes to her when he needs something) wanting to stay at the hotel. The main focus of course will be Norman’s growing obsession with women and how he deals with his thoughts towards them.
The next new episode of “Bates Motel” airs on Monday, March 25 at 10 p.m. on A&E – will you be watching? Did you feel that there was too much violence for the premiere episode or did you feel that it pushed the story forward? Leave us a comment and tell us what you think.
