‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Are Desiree Hartsock’s guys in for a twist?

If there is one thing that is both a strength as well as a weakness of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” franchise, it is that you can almost always predict what happens next. More often than not, there will be at least one two-on-one date a season, the contestants will get some lavish over-the-top dates, and at least one person will be humiliated on the first night.

But could there actually be some sort of element of change to Desiree Hartsock’s season? It’s ultimately far too early to say that, but a new message from the show’s executive producer certainly leaves things open to debate. In a new post on his Twitter account, here is what Mike Fleiss had to say:

“Gonna throw the guys a curveball or two today!!!”

Pretty vague, right? The answer here is “definitely.” However, we have to preface anything we say from here on out with a simple reminder that if there was ever a show out there known for vague teases that don’t really end up going anywhere, it’s this one. We cannot even start to count how many times we have thought there was about to be something big happening around the corner, only for it to ultimately turn into no big deal at all. Take for example the letter in Sean Lowe’s season of “The Bachelor”: there were countless promos hyping it up as an over-the-top thing, and really it was just another expression of Catherine Giudici’s love for him.

Ultimately, we expect this “curveball” to be something like a date happening earlier than expected, or in a different place. Considering that the ratings for “The Bachelorette” are consistently strong, there really is no reason to reinvent the wheel.
