ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2, episode 17 preview: Jack as ‘Joe the Plumber’
The allure of Jack in such an everyman role should be fairly obvious: he is a small business owner thanks to his bar, and New York State, quite possibly more than any other place in America these days, is a battleground for class warfare. While Jack may not have been an active part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, he does live in a part of the state where normal people live alongside some of the wealthiest men and women in the country.
The only things more surprising about Jack’s side-eye are that he is allowing Conrad to give a speech at his bar, and he is willing to actually thinking about being his middle-class supporter. What’s to gain from taking the role? The easy answer is that Jack could swallow his pride for the moment, and then try to take advantage of this newfound position a little later on down the road when he has an opportunity to embarrass Conrad in a public forum.
What do you think of the idea of Jack actually helping out on Conrad’s campaign, even though the man is in many ways responsible for what happened to Amanda? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also check out some early scoop on the season 2 finale of “Revenge” here.
