‘The Biggest Loser’ finale review: Was Jeff Nichols or Danni Allen the winner?
For the first time ever, “The Biggest Loser” had children on their show as a way to fulfill that “Challenge America” theme. While there are typically moments in which these sort of finales can get tense and rather boring, seeing these three youngsters come back on stage was a nice change from all of that. They were never in danger of being eliminated, and seeing their transformations tonight were really all about them.
With that being said, we have to now talk about the rest of this finale. Does this really still need to be two hours? Absolutely not, and it could have easily been trimmed down to 90 with just a few simple changes. It takes a full hour, for example, for us to even see the final three contestants out on stage together, and then nearly another hour before the winner is crowned.
Before we get to that, first of all a major round of applause to Gina McDonald. She managed to completely dominate the workout routine away from the ranch, and defeated all of the other contestants to win the at-home prize by a pretty wide margin. Overall, she lost 113 pounds to finish at 132, which was an impressive weight loss of more than 46%.
Before this episode even started, we predicted that Danni Allen was going to be declared the winner for one simple reason: she was already well on her way even before the finale, and the guys (in Jackson and Jeff) each had their work cut out for them. However, we then saw Jackson, and he really looked like he lost so much weight to give her a fighting chance. Jackson had a percentage of 42.07%, but then, Jeff ended up overtaking him with over 46.6% lost. This guy did some serious work! However, Danni literally won this season by one pound, and a slightly higher percentage. Talk about a close race, right?

I can’t imagine how rewarding it was to win by one pound! I would have been extra ecstatic just because that is amazing. Danni looks fantastic and she has definitely inspired me to try and lose the weight even though I don’t have nearly as far to go as she did. I was telling my co-workers that Danni looks like an entirely different person and that she just looks so happy to just be at a healthy weight. I applaud her and her hard work because she has shown that you can do it with hard work and determination.

OMG. YESS!! I loved Danni from the beginning and she deserved it the most. I could never tell looking at her now that she weighted well over 200 lbs. She looks amazingly strong and she looks just as fit as the trainers, maybe she should return as a trainer…that would be sweet. But I would have been mad if she didn’t win because she seems to have put in a lot of work from day 1 instead of waiting until the final days to shed the weight. She is the exact model of what the biggest loser is all about. GO DANNI ALLEN!!!
