‘Psych’ season 7, episode 4 preview: Shawn and Gus go south of the border
Considering that we have already seen “Psych” venture north of the border for some episodes themed around Canada in the past, it only makes sense to see the show take off to Mexico, right? While the series actually tapes in Vancouver, the show’s setting of Santa Barbara is far closer to the Mexican border; and thus, we are going to see an entire episode all about some adventures in Mexico in Wednesday night’s “No Country for Two Old Men.”
The premise for the hour is really rather simple: Henry Spencer, who really should be taking it easy right about now considering that he was shot not too long ago, ends up finding himself getting stuck in Mexico. With that in mind, it’s up to our favorite fake psychic detective and his motley crew to try and get him out, and you know that this is going to transpire with hilarity every step of the way.
There is one gag in the promo below (you’ll likely know what it is) that brings to mind a certain Spanish soap opera episode, one that is a personal favorite of series star James Roday. Some of the best episodes of the show are the ones where Shawn gets an opportunity to play a completely different sort of character, and while we are not quite sure that this will fully happen here, there will still be plenty of other fun opportunities. (This is the first episode of the season that we haven’t seen in advance, so we can’t pass along an early verdict here.)
