‘Last Man Standing’ season 2: First photo of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Tim Allen

If you are currently feeling amped up to see Tim Allen and Jonathan Taylor Thomas on the small screen together again, you are far from the only one. While “Last Man Standing” has not exactly been much of a ratings revelation on ABC in its second season, we have a feeling that there may be more people than usual tuning in to see just what sort of chemistry he has with his former “Home Improvement” co-star Tim Allen.

For this episode, Thomas (who is attempting a career comeback after being an enormous star through much of the 1990s) is going to be playing a restaurant owner who ends up catching the eye of Allen’s oldest daughter, played by Amanda Fuller. We don’t ultimately know how long the character will be around, but he joins Richard Karn as one of the former stars of the long-running series that are visiting Allen again in a new environment.

Thomas has been out of the spotlight ever since a role on “Veronica Mars” back in 2005, and there is a question that we are still racking our brains over: why hasn’t this guy been on “Dancing with the Stars”? Any young woman who grew up in the 1980s and 90s likely is very familiar with who he was, and what better way is there to reintroduce yourself to an audience than to have yourself appear on this show? For one, “Home Improvement” was an ABC series, and the show has proven over the years that it can be a very good launching pad for former TV stars. Just as Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, or Joey Lawrence.
