‘Psych’ season 7, episode 3 preview: The Big Show and a touch of Bigfoot
The handheld-camera episode craze continues. We saw “Supernatural” try this technique via found footage earlier this season (though to unfortunate returns), and on Wednesday night “Psych” is going to take a similar risk by having an episode that really is largely filmed using this unconventional method. This was the last episode that USA sent out to the press earlier this season, but we’re going to save our opinion on it until after it airs.
But for now, we will share a few details about just what you can expect. Shawn and Gus find themselves in the woods this week basically trying to get involved with a Bigfoot documentary, and the show comes up with a pretty clever way of making a handheld episode that still allows all of the characters to get into camera view at some point. There is going to be a mysteries, and there will also be a guest appearance by WWE superstar The Big Show. This is not the first time that a pro wrestler has graced the show, and it just serves as further proof of the close ties that the series has to USA’s sports entertainment franchise.
You are also going to meet a pair of new characters this week who are actually responsible for making the documentary, and we have to say that overall they have much more of a presence than what is typically your standard procedural TV guest star. Because of this format some characters are going to have a reduced role, whereas others will have a chance to show off new sides to their personality.
