‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: January Jones gives progress report, talks Betty
While we may not know much about “Mad Men” season 6 just yet (which puts us in the same camp as pretty much every other person out there not a part of the cast and crew), we are at least now getting a better sense as to just how deep into production to the show is. Ultimately, it looks like the end of taping is near, courtesy of what January Jones is saying now.
While the actress brushed off questions about what is coming up for Betty Francis on the hit AMC show, she did tell Us Weekly that the cast is very far along in the process, and that the earlier rumors about her character having a larger role this time around are turning out to be true:
“We have about three episodes left to shoot, so we’re almost all the way through the season and there’s a lot of juicy exciting things that happen but I can never say. I can say there will be more of the Betty character this season. I can work more since the baby is a bit older.”
Admittedly, we ave asked ourselves one question just about every time that Jones talks about seeing more of Betty this season: what all is there for her to do? While we love the actress and the character is strong, it feels like there is only so much she would show up in Don Draper’s life now that he is with Megan; plus, her connections with some of the show’s other characters are minimal at best.
What do you think the “Mad Men” writers have up their sleeves right now when it comes to January and season 6? We want to hear your thoughts below, and you can check out who Jon Hamm was recently spotted filming with over at the link here.

Josh obviously hasn’t watched a lot of television. I don’t think he has even watched a lot of Mad Men.

I found in my conversations with associates, you either like Mad Men or you don’t. For some they have an opportunity to relive days gone by, others are merely entertained by the spot on writing. To me Mad Men is right up there in its relevance as All in the Family was when it debuted. Betty is playing her role perfectly! We just want more for her as a woman. And I am sure she is going to get it!

Betty is one of the most obnoxious, unlikable characters in television history and she has nothing more to contribute to the story. She needs to move far away or something. January Jones is terrible anyway.

I prefer to see Betty any day over Megan’s boring acting story line. I want to see her get a job outside the house and for her marriage to Henry to succeed and for Don to finally apologize to her.
