‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 video: Behind the scenes details on dragons, books

Game of ThronesYou can always tell a stellar TV show by the amount of effort put in to ensure that the quality of everything is top-notch; and when it comes to “Game of Thrones,” you really see this in everything from the tiniest set details to the costumes to of course some of the amazing prop work.

The latest behind-the-scenes video released from HBO really focuses on the latter, and shows us just how some familiar items you see in the show are meticulously made to look realistic to viewers, even though they may not actually be so in real life. This includes some of the enormous books that look as though they contain thousands of pages (though that is really not the case), and also the cages that hold the dragons (which have been modified slightly for the new season). It’s a pain-staking process to ensure that these not only look great on the screen, but also still fall into the budget accommodated for the series (which is still small in comparison to a big-budget feature film, even in spite of its enormous cast and multiple filming locations).

HBO is now in full-on promotional mode for the show’s upcoming March 31 premiere, and this is going to include everything from promotional videos to interviews, teases, and so much more. We’re going to be here every step of the way (just like we were during the entire off-season for the show), so be sure to stay tuned for so much more. Ultimately, we are getting ready for ten episodes that are larger in scope than ever before.

In case you missed the extended (and not to mention extremely awesome) trailer for “Game of Thrones” season 3, you can see it just by heading on over to the link here.
