NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: First video of Jeff’s dad!
If you thought that “Community” was going to make you wait all the way to Thursday to actually have the opportunity to see Jeff Winger’s father in action, we have some good news: we have a video sneak peek for you here!
Thus far, it really does not seem as though the apple fell far from the tree when it comes to one Winger compared with the other. Jeff’s dad appears to be emotionless, not interested in any sort of physical intimacy, and is more keen to just hang out with his son rather than have any sort of deep conversation about feelings. The character, in case you have not heard, is played by James Brolin, who is just coming off a key role on “Castle” playing the father of another key character in Nathan Fillion’s Rick.
Of course, it would not be “Community” if everything went down easy, and it appears that one person is clearly out to try and keep Jeff and his dad from really having any sort of bonding time: Britta. We don’t quite know why she is there or why Jeff was crazy enough to tell her about what he was about to do, but she is going to do just about everything in her power to use her “skills” in psychology to help the two guys out … including making the rather creepy suggestion that they probably feel like they want to sleep together after seeing each other again in the first time in absolutely forever.
Ultimately, we just don’t see this episode having a happy ending, and it’s not so much because Britta is there. Rather, Jeff’s dad is just not a very nice guy, and while Joel McHale’s character has benefited from the study group in turning his life around, who has this man really had to benefit from? The answer, dear friends, is seemingly no one.
